What a tremendous success it was. Sometimes it can be hard to find or determine success. The unit of measure can vary, but in this case on all levels we can easily say, “This was a great success.” If you want to measure it by attendance, I think we can safely say that our expectations were exceeded. We had somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 people come through our doors. If you want to measure it by how far and wide people came, we had people from 13 different states; they came as far west as Arizona and as far east as Virginia; as far north as Ohio and as far south as Florida. If you want to measure by involvement, there were no less than 30 tasks to be done leading up to and during the workshop. That alone required a large number of our membership to be involved. There were 57 sessions and 38 speakers total and took place over four days with 1,000 minutes of classroom time.
What exactly was the goal of the Equipped Workshop? Our desire was to equip Christians with the ability to make disciples. We may never know this side of Heaven what good this workshop has done for all of the congregations of the Lord’s church all over the nation.
On behalf of the eldership, I want to say we are very fortunate to have so many hard-working and dedicated Christians here at Lehman Avenue. It has been a great blessing to watch you all overcome obstacles, meet the needs of everyone, and pull together to further the work of the Lord. The desire of the members of Lehman Avenue to spread the work and grow the church is very exciting. I am so thankful to be associated with such a wonderful group of Christians. “Let us continue to stir one another up for love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24).
