The Greatest “A.I”

The Greatest “A.I”

This week, the latest, greatest result of artificial intelligence (A.I.) was touted via several news outlets, that A.I. assisted mammograms can detect breast cancer up to five years earlier than human-analyzed tests. So many of us have family and loved ones who have gotten this dreaded disease, and this news is the latest incredible story of how advanced AI has become. While it feels like it has the potential to become the plot of some sci-fi horror movie, AI is not likely to take over the world and replace humans. But it does have limitations.

  • AI cannot predict when Christ will come again (Mat. 24:35).
  • AI cannot keep us from sinning (Rom. 3:23).
  • AI cannot prevent us from physically dying (Heb. 9:27).
  • AI cannot stop the second coming of Christ (2 Pet. 3:10).
  • AI cannot eliminate the reality and presence of poverty (John 12:8).
  • AI cannot replace preaching (1 Cor. 1:21) or our responsibility to share the gospel (Mat. 28:19).
  • AI cannot discharge a spouse’s responsibility to his/her mate (Eph. 5:22-33), a parent’s responsibility to his/her children (Eph. 6:4; Prov. 22:6), or a child’s responsibility to his/her parents (Eph. 6:1-3).
  • AI cannot supply the spiritual fellowship God provides through the church (Acts 2:42; Heb. 10:24).
  • AI cannot make one go to heaven or keep one from going to hell (John 5:28-29; Mat. 25:31-46).
  • AI cannot bear the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23).

You get the point.

There is an A.I. that is unbeatable and unrivaled. We might refer to it as Almighty Infiniteness. Everything in the list above which is beyond artificial intelligence is within God’s reach. While He will not overtake anyone’s free will, He is the source and supply of the resources we need to be successful in all the above areas. It is because He is omnipotent (all-powerful) and infinite (limitless and endless).

Repeatedly, Scripture reminds us that nothing is too hard for God (Gen. 18:14; Zech. 8:6), nothing is impossible for Him (Mark 10:27). He can do infinitely more than we can imagine (Eph. 3:20, NLT). Finally, there will be no innovations or developments that will make God more “God,” more mighty or more endless. By definition, He is perfectly complete. That’s the God we worship, we appeal to for salvation, we need for daily living, and we trust with our eternity. “God is able” (Mat. 3:9; Rom. 11:23; 2 Cor. 9:8; Heb. 11:19). PERIOD!
