10 Things to Remember as We Move to Cumberland Trace

10 Things to Remember as We Move to Cumberland Trace

1. God Goes with His People in Transition– “My presence will go with you, and I will give yourest” (Exod.33:14). Just as God accompanied Israel on their journey, He will be with us in our move. His presence is the greatest blessing.

2. There Will Be Much Work to Do – “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest” (John 4:35). Let’s be excited about new opportunities to reach souls in our new community with the gospel that saves souls.

3. God Can Do More Than We Imagine – “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us” (Eph.3:20). While we have great plans, let us be prepared to be amazed by what God accomplishes through us that we haven’t even considered.

4. Change Can Be Challenging, But It’s Worth It– “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isa. 43:19). Transition may be difficult, but these are times for growth and spiritual maturity.

5. The Work at Lehman Avenue Will Be Remembered – “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do” (Heb. 6:10). The work done at Lehman Avenue will continue at Cumberland Trace, and God will never forget the great things accomplished at LA.

6. The Scriptures Are Always Our Guide – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). God’s Word will continue to guide us, no matter where we serve Him.

7. Elders Need Our Cooperation and Patience – “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls” (Heb. 13:17). Let’s support our elders during this transition by being patient, cooperative, and encouraging. Avoid complaining, voicing every opinion, and being divisive.

8. It’s Right to Be Excited – “Rejoice always” (1 Thess. 5:16). It is appropriate to be excited about the new building and opportunities God has given us. Though the church is the people, it’s always a blessing to celebrate God’s goodness demonstrated in the tools He provides us.

9. Tell Someone– “Come and see” (John 1:46). As we move into this new location, let’s actively invite friends and neighbors who need to be introduced to Jesus.

10. We Need Your Help – “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ” (1 Cor. 12:12). Every member has a part to play. Let’s labor together, knowing that every contribution strengthens the body of Christ!
