Where has time gone? We are already toward the end of another year! At Lehman Avenue, the theme for 2023 was Engaging Everyone for Eternity taken from Ephesians 4:11-16. As we reflect on the year, we see where there was a lot of engagement among our Lehman family. From our church family pulling together to bring about Equipped, the start of the Cumberland Trace building project, the tremendous spiritual growth among the members, and the involvement of so many members in areas that were new to them this year, our church family has lived up to the theme well.
Ephesians 4:16 says, “from whom (Christ) the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” We see that every part of the Lehman family has been working to do its share, and many of you have done more than your share.
What has this produced? Just as this scripture has stated, we see where everyone doing their part causes growth and edification. We praise God that this year there have been 24 baptisms into Christ and 45 additional placed membership at Lehman in 2023. We have also seen numerous men step forward and present devotionals on Wednesday nights, men and women have taught Bible classes for the first time, and even some of our young men presented lessons at Equipped. Additionally, some have engaged in new Bible studies with friends, family, and coworkers to spread God’s word. All of this has caused growth and edification in the right ways!
